TENERE 700 HANDGUARDS:

Best handguards for the Yamaha Tenere 700? The T7’s stock handlebars are threaded on the ends, so companies like Zeta and Barkbusters offer handguards that come with threaded insert kits to fit the stock handlebars. TENERE 700 FOOTPEGS:

Best footpegs for the Yamaha Tenere 700? Bikes like the T7 come from the factory with footpegs that are fine for street riding, but not the best choice for off-road riding. They include a rubber insert, which helps with vibration, but can be slippery in wet and muddy conditions. The stock pegs are also on the narrow side, which means they don’t provide alot of comfort/support, especially when standing. Additionally, they are not as grippy as they need to be for more aggressive off-road riding. We like the footpegs offered by DRC< Zeta, Pivot Pegz and Altrider. They will all be larger in size, which means more grip and increased comfort while standing…

TENERE 700 LED LIGHTING:

Front auxiliary LED lighting is very popular on bikes like the T7, for a couple reasons… first, so that the bike stands out more in traffic, and second, to provide better lighting if you ever get caught out on the road/trail after dark. We’ve used Denali lighting on a few other bikes in the past, and it is super high quality stuff. For our Tenere, we decided to go with their small DM line of LED lights, and mounted them to the Auxiliary Light Mount that Denali makes for the Tenere 700 that bolts up under the stock headlight…

TENERE 700 MIRRORS:

The Tenere 700 comes from the factory with the same street bike mirrors that Yamaha puts on it’s street line of motorcycles. These mirrors work OK functionally, but they’re not ideal for off-road riding since they are fixed mounted and can easily get bent/broken in a crash, and potentially do more damage to your controls if they bent or break at the brake reservoir perch. We always remove the stock mirrors right away and replace with off-road mirrors from Double Take. We like the Adventure mirrors if we’re doing more street riding with a bit of off-road, or the Enduro mirrors if we’re mostly riding off-road…

TENERE 700 SKID PLATES:

The T7 comes from the factory with a small thin aluminum skid plate that won’t do much in the way of protection, especially if you venture off-road with your bike. We like plastic skid plates whenever there is one available for the bike, because they are generally lighter weight, vibrate less, and reflect less engine noise than the aluminum skid plates. Our favorite skid plate for the Tenere 700, and the one we run on our project bike, is the Moose/AXP Racing PRO LG skid plate. You can’t go wrong this quality piece!
