We recently installed Graves Motorsports new full titanium exhaust system on our Honda CRF450RL Supermoto Project Bike. Here's what we think...
We had recently been running the Yoshimura RS-4 full exhaust system on our CRF450RL Supermoto Conversion, but wanted to change things up a little bit this summer, so we decided to try out Graves Motorsports new full titanium exhaust system. We've used Graves exhaust systems on a few other bikes, including our Yamaha XSR900 Project Bike, and have always been impressed with the fit, finish, performance, and sound of their exhaust systems. They make very high quality stuff.
Sound...
Click the video above to hear what the exhaust sounds like. On our project bike, We're running the exhaust with the spark arrestor / dB reducer installed. The sound is really really good... has a similar note to the Yoshimura RS-4 we had on the bike previously, but it's just slightly louder, with a little bit deeper tone. It is NOT as loud as an FMF PowerCore 4 exhaust. Overall. you will not be disappointed in the sound of your bike after installing this pipe!
Weight...
Since the Graves system is made completely of titanium, with a carbon endcap on the muffler, it's VERY lightweight. The muffler itself weighs 4.8 lbs, compared to the stocker at 13 lbs, so that saves 8.2 lbs. The Graves header pipe is 1 lb, compared to the stock header at 1.8 lbs, so a savings of nearly a pound. Overall weight savings after installing the Graves full titanium exhaust is about 9 lbs compared to stock!
Performance...
You can see Graves Motorsports dyno charts here. From a butt dyno perspective, our project bike feels very similar to how it felt with the Yoshimura RS-4 installed, and we certainly can't complain about that. Our bike has a Vortex ECU, and we're running the same Yoshimura maps that we've been using. The bike just rips with these mods, no questions asked. It totally transforms the bike compared to what it ran (and sounded) like in stock form!
