Recently our 2016 Yamaha XSR900 Project Bike needed a new battery. We had used an Antigravity Lithium battery in our Ducati Hypermotard and thought we’d try one in our XSR900. Here are some details…

A big benefit of switching to a lithium battery is the weight savings, and this one didn’t disappoint. We dropped nearly 5 pounds just by switching out the heavy Yuasa battery for the Antigravity lithium model.

One other thing we ran into when shopping for new batteries for this bike was that all the aftermarket batteries we found had the positive and negative terminals opposite of how they were oriented on our stock battery, and it didn’t look too easy to re-arrange the cables in the tight space around the battery. The Antigravity battery has terminals on both sides of the battery, so it’s pretty much universal, and it was a simple install with the cables in their stock location.

Finally, this battery has Antigravity’s Re-Start technology… the battery intelligently monitors battery status, and if it senses over-discharge, it will put itself into a sleep mode, yet saves enough energy to allow you to Re-Start your vehicle, by simple pressing the Re-Start button on the top of the battery. Very nice feature!

If you’re in need of a new battery for your 2016-2021 Yamaha XSR900 or 2016-2020 Yamaha MT-09, I’d definitely give this one a look!
