Last week we installed an FMF Q4 Slip-On, FMF MegaBomb Header, and EJK Electronic Fuel Injection controller on our CRF250L Project Bike. The Q4 is our favorite exhaust system for these types of bikes, mainly because the Q4 Slip-On is a little quieter than some of the other slip-on mufflers on the market, but still sounds much better than the stock exhaust. Additionally, the FMF MegaBomb is an ideal header choice because it gives you more low to mid-range power, which the little CRF desperately needs. Finally, the EJK EFI Controller is a must-have mod any time you change the exhaust and/or intake, and EJK has pre-set the controller for Stage 1 type mods, like we've done here. And on a side note, the EJK controller is identical to the one FMF sells under their name... EJK designs and manufacturers them, and produces private label versions for companies like FMF.
Installation:
Installation was really easy. The stock exhaust comes off by removing four bolts, and the FMF Header and Muffler bolted right up with no issues... everything fit great, and FMF even includes a small mounting bracket to mount the OEM white plastic side panel to the Q4 muffler. The EJK EFI Controller was also easy to install... it plugs in right under the gas tank (which we did not need to remove), and we mounted the control unit under the seat. We had everything hooked up and the bike running in about 45 minutes.
More details and a video clip in the next few days when we get a chance to ride the bike a little bit... stay tuned...
